Alchemy

Alchemy was a process used in the middle ages concerned with the transmutation of matter, in particular the desire to transform base metals into gold, and the search for a universal elixir of life that could heal any disease. It was the forerunner to Chemistry, and nowadays is regarded as an ‘Occult Science’ in a similar vein to Astrology. Alchemy may seem archaic in the modern scientific age, but the search for knowledge and the answers to the fundamental questions of how the universe works, along with the desire to find cures to disease have prevailed into modern scientific processes and still drive scientists the world over. This series is about using the lens to create the elements and compounds revered by alchemists through the transmutation of light and form.
